144G Assisted Living
Assisted living should feel like a home, not a facility. Licensed under Minnesota Statute 144G, our residence pairs the practical support of round-the-clock staffing with the ordinary comforts of daily life: your own space, your own routine, your own choices. Every support plan starts with a conversation about how you actually want to live.

Overview
What this program does
Our flagship service. Licensed under Minnesota Statute 144G, our Assisted Living community combines a comfortable, home-like residence with the health, personal care, and supportive services people need to live with dignity and independence. We tailor each resident's support plan to their preferences, routines, and goals.
Who It's For
- Older adults who no longer feel safe living alone but don't want a nursing home
- Adults with disabilities who need daily personal care alongside housing
- People managing multiple medications or health conditions who need reliable oversight
- Families looking for a licensed setting with staff on site around the clock
Getting Started
How assisted living works
- 01
Tour and conversation
Come see the residence and tell us about the person who'd be living here: their routines, preferences, and what a good day looks like for them.
- 02
Assessment and support plan
We complete the required assessment, then build a written service plan covering personal care, medications, meals, and the supports that matter most.
- 03
Move in and adjust
Support starts on day one and keeps evolving. We review the plan regularly and change it as needs, health, or preferences change.

All frequently asked questions- How is assisted living different from a nursing home?
- Assisted living is a residential setting. Residents have their own space and keep their own routines, with staff available for personal care, medications, and daily support. Nursing facilities provide a higher level of skilled medical care. Licensed 144G assisted living sits between living fully independently and nursing-facility care.
- Is UNIIKS licensed for assisted living?
- Yes. UNIIKS holds Minnesota DHS license #1112536 and operates its assisted living under Minnesota Statute 144G.
- How is assisted living paid for?
- Funding depends on the individual. Some residents qualify through a Minnesota Medicaid waiver, others pay privately or use a combination. We'll walk you through the options and help you find out what you qualify for.
